Pros

Excellent culture - employees are friendly and great to work with, activities are ongoing in the office (Halloween Costume/bring the kids Party, Holiday Ugly Sweater Party, etc), and vendors are constantly bring food/treats frequently. Free soda and coffee - also a little snack/lunch vending area available as well as a lunchroom and patio for breaks. Benefits are great in CA - they have a wellness program which allows you to save $30 a month on benefit premiums. You also can get a free fit-bit type device if you want one! Vacation, personal day, and sick time is available as well as 10 paid holidays (I was full time). Lots of learning programs available for FREE as well as opportunities for advancement - the company likes to promote within and even between departments if you didn't find the right fit on the first try. Annual surveys are done for all associates so they can work on issues - and they really do. There are teams/plans put in place to make associate's happier.

Cons

Beware of the position you work in. Unfortunately work-life balance isn't the same across all positions. Portfolio Managers/ACMs are pretty over worked and bombarded with angry homeowners (which does come with the territory). I think they could definitely use more bodies to handle portfolios. If you work on-site or in a different role (accounting, insurance, HR) work-life can be much better and people tend to be happier - but it can have a large influence based on your boss. So make sure you have the same thoughts as they do on OT. I worked in a non-community management role and had great work-life balance and loved my team. They are growing into a more "national" model so there are a lot of changes and more pressure to do more and more... but I am not sure they are compensating for it.

Pros

At the time, I was working overnight at a condominium, and the quiet environment gave me the opportunity to focus on my schoolwork since there was very little activity throughout the building. The team I worked with was incredible, they made me feel like I was part of a family, which made the job even more enjoyable and rewarding.

Cons

Working the graveyard shift can significantly affect a person's sleep schedule and overall sleep quality.

Pros

Great company culture with strong core values and a collaborative environment. As a remote employee, the flexibility and work-life balance are a huge plus. The IT environment is also very dynamic — there are multiple systems, platforms, and technologies in use, so the work rarely feels repetitive or boring. The company is supportive of employee growth and development, offering training opportunities and access to a large online learning library. Another positive sign is the number of long-term employees; many people have been with the company for 5+ years, which says a lot about overall employee satisfaction and stability.

Cons

The company frequently changes business processes and technologies. While innovation is good, it can sometimes feel like just when you’ve fully mastered a system or workflow, a new tool or process is introduced. Workload can also fluctuate depending on business initiatives and project demands. Because it’s a large organization, there are a lot of layers of leadership — supervisors, managers, directors, VPs, etc. At times, it can be unclear who the correct point of contact or decision-maker is for certain situations.
