I wouldn’t work here right now - Software Engineer Flatiron Health Employee Review

Pros

There are great people that work here who are serious about the companies mission.

Cons

The higher ups and managers are not good. Don’t trust managers and don’t trust upper management here. Before I left I was put on a PIP and told I needed to meet expectations by the end of the pip. Towards the end it was extended an extra month because expectations were not set properly and I just need to show that I was working at my current level. Towards the end of that next month I asked my manager how I was doing (if I’d make it) and he said yes as long as I got my tickets in. The very next day he’s telling me I will not make it due to “not showing enough spikes into the next level” I asked him why because I was told I only needed to show my current level. He said there was some miscommunication with upper management. I spoke with upper management about this miscommunication and they all said they’d get back to me but no one did. The very next day I was terminated.

Pros

Smart, kind colleagues that all care about the work Inspiring mission Flexibility New CEO/COO have a direction No toxicity

Cons

There are constant changes - reorgs, layoffs, new leadership, etc. Some things are unnecessarily complex and cumbersome but the new direction is focused on tackling this Limited promotions and opportunities for career advancement in general

Pros

Flexible work, anytime and anywhere. Flexible number of hours. Meaningful work. Good managers.

Cons

Terrible pay and poor career opportunities. No raises have been given for nearly 6 years, during which time cost of living has soared 35% or more, and during which time they've actually reduced benefits (decreased bonuses and continuing education fund). There is no financial incentive to work beyond the bare minimum because of the terrible pay and lackluster bonuses. I applied to a higher level position which perfectly matched my background and experience; despite working for them (without a raise) loyally with quality work for 5+ years, I didn't even get an interview. There is just no future at this company.
