Employees don’t feel valued here - Account Supervisor FleishmanHillard Employee Review

Pros

Big name clients, strong inter-office network, great talent among my colleagues

Cons

I considered leaving Fleishman’s DC office in March (when our GM and practice leads blindsided the staff with layoffs), and I decided to leave the company last month (when annual raises and promotions were announced). In both instances, I was struck by how carelessly office management treated their employees. In March, the downsizing process verged on inhumane – cutting some with 10+ years at the company and sending a junior-level girl to NYC on client business only to have her let go by the NY office upon arrival. From what I heard, those laid off received only 1 paycheck of severance. Then, in July, the raises offered to promoted employees were so minimal, some reportedly weren’t even in line with the rising cost-of-living in DC. Meanwhile, seemingly all upper-level managers took a pay bump.

Pros

People are smart, friendly and some of the best in the business. Really cool and interesting clients and projects bring invaluable opportunities to learn and gain industry experience.

Cons

Omnicom sucks. Pay isn't great at lower levels and raises and promotions aren't even something we can ask for bc it's all decided by them. Our culture has taken a hit as a result and we're struggling with retention and hiring.
