Pros

There are some really smart, dedicated, pleasant people there - both individual contributors and managers - but they are a small minority. Pay and benefits are not top-tier but not too bad. A lot of opportunities to learn about the business and gain valuable experience. Management seems understanding when it comes to certain personal issues and emergencies.

Cons

This is the most dysfunctional organization of any kind I have ever seen. Again, while there are some truly outstanding people, most have little sense of teamwork, flexibility, or customer focus. The average quality - work ethic, skill level, intelligence - is much lower than the OEM world. There is a lot of the "that's not my job" attitude. The organization as a whole is completely incompetent and so many mistakes are constantly made that customers are in a constant state of escalation and the few good people have to kill themselves to get anything done. Politics are rampant and most managers treat their areas as their own fiefdoms. Some managers are frequently dishonest and unethical but allowed to get away with it. Depending on the job, the work load can be horrific - forget work-life balance. There is not enough direct or indirect labor to do everything in a quality way - management always says this is temporary but that's not true. Some days it seems that accomplishing any little thing is a struggle due to bad attitude, laziness, or ineptness. As the job market continues to improve, the good employees with decent resumes will leave. No one with options would willingly stay here.

Pros

Very friendly, as close to family as a company can get. Extremely large, so support exists for any task, even if not on site.

Cons

Long over burdened processes for capital to produce quality goods, on time. Pay for talent is lower than industry average

Pros

Health, dental, vision, and 401(k) were quite good.

Cons

Flex tolerates a toxic work culture from their most senior leaders. My director, literally, yelled at me daily, usually throughout the day. He physically grabbed me and forced me in the direction he wanted me to move. He threatened to fire me or replace me at least once a week. I went to the then director of HR who did absolutely nothing. After she was let go I went to her successor who told me there was no record of me speaking with HR before. And she did nothing. Unable to tolerate the work environment, I left. The company doesn't take safety seriously. We had shelving collapse resulting in an employee needing medical attention. The person tasked with designing and building storage has no training, no mechanical background, and no analysis is being performed to validate if the storage can hold 1,000+ pounds. There's no budget for professionally designed storage and, again, I was threatened for raising this as a concern. I learned today this same director is continuing to use me as a scapegoat despite me no longer working there.
