Pros

Some great people still left there. Company culture used to be honorable, transparent, and positive.

Cons

Senior Leadership Team is the # 1 Con. Con is an appropriate term because they've conned all of the employees. About a year ago, their new platform termed "Flexera One" was presented to the employee base in an all hands meeting. The leadership team told us in no uncertain terms the products that constitute Flexera One "Were ready for Primetime". Nothing could have been further from the truth! As the sales team realized the great lie that was told to us, we began referring to the platform as "Flexera Many". It is a cobbled together Frankenstein's monster platform that is the result of many acquisitions over the past 4 years. The lies continue to this day; employees, customers and prospects are being misled by the CEO and those responsible for the products. Sales and Customer Success teams are embroiled in weekly firefights! Their SaaS software management product is dead on arrival!!! Customers who are rightfully unhappy with the value they are receiving from their investments in the components that make up "Flexera Many", are canceling their subscriptions. Unhappy customers along with the dramatic culture change that happened has caused a mass exodus from the company. The loss of talent, which is directly related to the above referenced lies, and the recent acquisition of Flexera by a well-known Private Equity firm, have resulted in a miserable work environment. The pressure is on everyone and it will only continue to increase because of continually missing quarterly revenue targets.

Thank you for expressing your concerns about Flexera One. Since you were likely here at sales kickoff in early February 2021, you saw the Flexera One platform and applications' roadmap. Included in that roadmap was a view of what is available now in terms of capabilities and user experience and demonstrations of use cases Flexera One solves today, in production, for our customers. For a solution this big, the vision will not be realized overnight. Some companies prefer to acquire products and have no plans to integrate those products with organically-developed capabilities. Some companies say they are going to integrate products yet fail to deliver. At Flexera, we are doing what we said we would do when we started on our Flexera One journey years ago. We articulated that we would integrate our market-leading capabilities in IT asset management, SaaS application management, high-quality asset data, cloud cost optimization, and cloud migrating planning. And when we said “integration,” we meant – and still mean – true integration across our technology stack, as well as across the user experience and interface. We have also been clear that delivering this next-generation set of capabilities by way of a SaaS platform is the optimal approach to deliver value to our customers quickly and effectively. We are excited about Flexera One, and we have satisfied customers using it today – with no doubt, many more to come. We wish you much luck in your next role.

Pros

Great people, great culture and pretty good work life balance. Salary is competitive and benefits are good (not great). They also have a fully remote business model that helps with work life balance. If your in a couple areas you can go into the office if you want to however.

Cons

Some fragmentation in the business makes driving positive outcomes more difficult then it should be. A little bit of a feeling that you have to justify your existence, nothing too severe, but it does add to some anxiety about job security.

Thank you for this. Glad the culture, people, and remote flexibility are resonating. The point about fragmentation and job security anxiety is heard. That feeling should not be part of the day to day experience and we are paying attention to it. Your suggestion on bringing SMEs into QBRs is a good one. Decisions are better when the people closest to the work have a voice. We appreciate you taking the time to be that specific and will share this internally.

Pros

Good remote working options are available

Cons

Direct leadership frequently used 1:1 meetings to discuss personal matters rather than tracking project timelines, yet would later blame subordinates when timelines slipped. It was an incredibly uncomfortable environment where it felt impossible to succeed. Good ideas would be implemented and well-received by others, but direct management would find something negative to focus on, like claiming it took too long Communication from direct management was passive-aggressive and often crossed professional boundaries. The language used in team settings was frequently inappropriate, including the use of highly offensive, derogatory language disguised as jokes. I was uncomfortable most of the time I worked there.
