Pros

I've been at Flexport for a long time, and here is why I stay: True Globalization: I sit in our NYC office, but on any given Wednesday, I’m problem-solving with colleagues in Amsterdam, Shenzhen, Toronto, and Ho Chi Minh. The world feels small here. Mobility: I’m not stuck in one box. I’ve transferred internally multiple times, and the company prefers to promote/move current employees rather than just hiring externally. Leadership: They invest in us. From the annual leadership summits to prioritizing internal candidates for management, the pathway is clear. Feedback: You know those employee surveys most companies ignore? Flexport actually uses them to make changes.

Cons

Like many pre-IPO tech giants, the equity is great on paper, but liquidity is low right now. I’m betting on our growth to turn that "paper wealth" into real cash sooner rather than later.

Pros

Challenging, fast-paced, balanced, global, exciting

Cons

There are a lot of problems to solve, so if you don't like solving problems, it's not for you. Bureaucracy exists but is not super established and is possible to break through.

Pros

Lots of really smart and nice people at the company. The culture has improved a lot recently. There's a good amount of room to develop and jump on things that you might not be exposed to in other companies.

Cons

The company moves a little too fast at times and maybe overlooks things that are working well and don't necessarily need to be changed for "efficiency" at the risk of doing things incorrectly. It can be hard to move up in some departments. work/life balance varies a lot by team.
