Pros

Everyone at Flexport is highly motivated and driven. People join because there are truly endless possibilities at Flexport. We're building the operating system for Global Trade and we're pulling as a team to fulfill our mission of making trade easy and accessible to everyone. There are opportunities to join new teams and work cross-functionally. There are opportunities to travel (pre COVID) and build out new teams in new offices. There are more and more opportunities for learning and development including training for IC's and managers. Although we've grown a lot it still feels like we're working at a startup. Things move fast, change happens frequently, and it's a really fast paced environment. Being able to adapt and having grit are the keys to being successful here.

Cons

Leadership is mostly male and it doesn't always feel like diversity is valued at the leadership level. There have been a lot of initiatives and conversations about building more diverse teams but it has yet to happen.

Pros

The compensation was strong and competitive, and it was consistently the best part of the job. If your priority is pay in the near term, that piece delivered.

Cons

I struggled with the lack of stability. It rarely felt like the ground was solid, and that uncertainty was hard to sit with over time. Return-to-office expectations seemed to change more than once, and I personally didn't find the reasoning behind those shifts clear. It was hard to plan around. I also found the performance review process difficult to trust. In my experience the outcomes didn't always seem to line up with the actual work, which made it hard to feel like I knew where I stood or how to grow. There was A LOT of turnover in leadership during my time there. With direction changing frequently, it often felt like priorities were in flux, which made it next to impossible to stay oriented.
