Pros

Diverse staff Opportunity to form relationships from coworkers to residents Cheaper housing 1/2 off housing fees, $300 flexbucks a semester, and you get paid minimum wage for a 20 hour work week- Was great for the extra cash flow but I decided it wasn't worth the stress because I didn't need the money Great resume builder

Cons

Have to be back in room every night by 2 am weekdays and 4 am weekends Sometimes holidays depending on building assignment Living where you work, so sometimes residents would knock on my door at 3 in the morning and I would have to deal with the issue

Pros

Great benefits, excellent retirement options, generous leave, and strong job stability. The campus environment is welcoming, and there are opportunities for professional development and continuing education. The work is meaningful, and many departments foster a collaborative atmosphere with a good work-life balance.

Cons

Salaries can be lower than comparable positions in the private sector, and hiring, promotions, and other administrative processes can move slowly due to university policies. Budget constraints may affect raises and staffing, and parking can be challenging depending on your work location.
