Pros

The pros are you get free tuition with working with the university, some departments allow you to make up time by staying late or coming in early. The rating system is rather fair.

Cons

For advancement you have to apply for your promotion. If the job titles are remotely similar they won't give you a raise. They pay staff very low wages. They pay the lowest overall wages to staff compared to all other State Universities in Florida. They do provide training classes that are not helpful unless you already know how to do something and just need further guidance. Human resources is very biased and normally sides with upper management.

Pros

Great benefits, excellent retirement options, generous leave, and strong job stability. The campus environment is welcoming, and there are opportunities for professional development and continuing education. The work is meaningful, and many departments foster a collaborative atmosphere with a good work-life balance.

Cons

Salaries can be lower than comparable positions in the private sector, and hiring, promotions, and other administrative processes can move slowly due to university policies. Budget constraints may affect raises and staffing, and parking can be challenging depending on your work location.
