Pros

- You're going to work with some very smart people. - You will get access to a lot of valuable information that will be transferable throughout the growing retail media industry no matter what company you go to next; because Flywheel is truly ahead of their competition from a capabilities and knowledge standpoint. - Flywheel has a massive client list, so you will have opportunity to get contacts around the industry in a vast amount of categories across many different companies. - Salary is okay - There really are good people at Flywheel Digital, but they are starting to lose those good people due to being overlooked constantly and massive workloads without career growth and/or bonuses.

Cons

- Career growth used to be a strength at Flywheel, but 2 acquisitions later you can end up in the same role for a few years if you don't go out of your to get yourself noticed; and even then you still may not be promoted. They're actively working on their career growth, so hopefully they resolve this. - There are no bonuses of any kind; not performance or annual. We didn't even get a bonus when Omnicom purchased Flywheel. I doubt bonuses are coming any time soon either based on leadership totally shutting the idea down in several team meetings. - Moved to a hybrid work schedule in June 2024; requiring 12 days per month in the office. - Flywheel has not only been acquired twice, but also acquired several companies as well; which resulted in a lot of people who have been with the company well before Flywheel's ascension on the back burner in terms of career growth. - Staffing issues, especially in the client services department which is one of the biggest concerns because Flywheel is a white glove agency. So the expectation is that you're everything for a client that they need/want you to be, but that's hard to do when you're stretched thin across multiple accounts. - Flywheel was preparing to IPO, and even announced it to everyone which got a lot of peoples' hopes up for a big pay day in equity. Shortly after (probably a month or two later), we got a surprise announcement that Omnicom acquired us and we were not getting any form of an acquisition bonus because it was a takeover. That was a huge let down and something Flywheel pretty much just brushed over.

Pros

As in most agencies, the best part are the teammates who are on the trenches with you.

Cons

Steer clear. Go anywhere else. In the 3 years I was at Flywheel/TPN they went through no less than 5 mergers or reclassifications. Few of which ever meaningfully impacted the work, but actively drained the agency culture and morale. 4 rounds of layoffs that I remember. NO raises and only 1 review. And a baffling RTO policy that has little to do with collaboration and everything to do with commercial real estate tax benefits. Omni sucks the life out of these incredible agencies, taking decades of innovation and turning them into mere pawns. The leadership has no real authority and views workers not as people, but numbers. The "clean desk" policy means there's zero personality in the office. Because people are not rotated off old accounts there's not fresh perspective. High stress and there no chill. I've never cried so much at a job. Not used to coworkers being so rude, cold, and snappy. Omnicom is pushing AI and monitoring if you're using it regardless of whether it's necessary or makes sense for your role. There are better agencies out there, go apply there and leave Flywheel to fix their model.
