Food 4 Less

Part of Kroger

Is this your company?

They treat you well, they appreciate good workers, but you need to communicate with your supervisors. - RGC Service Clerk Food 4 Less Employee Review

Pros

They are a union job so you do get benefits, but I'm not too sure how well they are. You work in the AC except when you're pushing carts. They provide you clean water most of the time if you're a Utility Clerk. If you go to school they can work with your schedule so you can work around school time. Mostly everybody here is cool, the workers are cool, and the supervisors/managers are cool if you work well. It's a good 1st job and I'd recommend working here. If anyone superior treats you unfair you will always have someone to represent you from the union, to make sure you are treated fair.

Cons

The fact that you're working "grocery" means your schedule is going to be all over the place. When you start as a Utility Clerk (new hires) you're not going to get more than 20-25 hours average. They hire a lot of UC's (utility clerks) and that affects your weekly hours. Being a UC basically means you do whatever needs to be done. If they need to to clean up something, it's you. The pay isn't great, they start you about 15 cents more than minimum wage, and even though you do get raises, it's only after you work over 1,000 hours. I've been working here for a little over a year and I'm just about to get my 1st raise, which is 10 cents.
