Pros
NOTE: The following pros and cons change significantly for other departments. My final verdict is that it's a very good first job but you need to have your eyes and ears open; after 3 years it might be good to jump off of this train. * Friendly colleagues (in general). * Opportunities to work with variety of technologies and products. * Freedom to chose tools convenient to each developer as long as the job is done. * Work sometimes can become challenging and even let you be creative. * (almost) Flexible work hours.
Cons
* Management very reluctant to changes unless something extraordinary happens (and then there is no time to apply changes as you should) * No actual teamwork ("ninja" philosophy most of the times) * No documentation so when a senior leaves, takes a big portion of the knowledge base with them. * Very little opportunities (maybe even none) to evolve within the company.
