Good as a starting position, but not for career growth - Engineer Formlabs Employee Review

Pros

Flexible schedule (if you get the job done, which requires a lot of hours) People generally friendly Free lunch on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays A variety of company events (board games, salsa, art craft events every few months)

Cons

No career growth. You may have great talents and spend lots of time on projects, but the management quickly hires someone who can readily replace you. So very little incentive for the company to reward you financially or otherwise. What makes it worse is that during interview practically everyone was told that compensation and career growth will be offered to the capable. The true dynamics: since new hires flood in Formlabs with such expectations, the company quickly can replace you with newer hires (not that it will if you keep up the work). It resembles a Ponzi scheme. It's a mirage that never materialize. The company encouraged employees to fill in the Glassdoor reviews when the company morale was high (I think it might have been after a biannual company-wide party), so the Glassdoor ratings are artificially high.

Thank you for your honest feedback. We know there are many things to improve about working at Formlabs - building a company where people can grow and develop here long-term is something our team and many others are thinking about constantly. We have taken some concrete steps in the past year, including sessions focused on training managers, growth workshops, more focused onboarding, 1on1 coaching, etc. We still have a long way to go, but we know that Formlabs is built by the people who work here. Thank you again for sharing your experience so far - we're taking your feedback to heart and will continue to improve!
