Pros
The upper management is aware of employee retention issues and is trying to improve by mentorship programs, more bonding events, compensation reviews, etc.
Cons
To be honest after compensation reviews most people are still unhappy about the salary cause it is still below market. The company has grown into a size where it is too big to take aggressive actions but still too small to be supportive to its employees. Upper management tends to always make unrealistic decisions which turned out to be mistakes that they never learn from. How the company performs is really up to the 3 people who make decisions. Management leads come and go very frequently which leads to projects being dropped, frequently changing goals,... a lot of chaos. Engineers do not listen to customers or get a channel to listen to customers. Sure we develop products that we are proud of because we overcame so many engineering challenges, so what? Is that what the customers really want? Did we really solve the problems customers wanted us to solve?
