Pros
- Great benefits (insurance, food, vacation, travel opportunities, etc) - Amazing culture, especially if you come from a more corporate background - Fantastic people - Everyone believes in the product, which is really really great - It's not easy to work here, but if you're ambitious, good at what you do and willing to speak your mind, this is a fantastic organization to be a part of.
Cons
Mainly growing pains and lack of leadership. Formlabs has grown really fast, so it's natural to have some bumps along the way. This is getting addressed on a team-by-team basis so things might improve in the next 6 months. The pay is also pretty low. Also understandable, considering we're a start-up, but without a clear path for raises/bonuses in place, it can get very frustrating. There seems to be a tipping point for some people where the benefits no longer outweigh the lack of financial compensation, which can lead to negative gossip and resentment. Other things that could be better: - career development - training/onboarding - setting expectations for new hires. As I said in the pros section, it's not easy to work here. We're a success-hungry group of people working through communication and leadership issues while being underpaid. If you can rise to the challenge and navigate the minor chaos that is a growing start-up, it's amazing, but some people really struggle with this.
