Pros
The distant memories from a few years ago when this was a leading research organization. I used to love working at Forrester and truly believed that we were helping our clients succeed and make progress on their initiatives. We were a community of innovate, bright industry professionals that felt empowered to make the best decisions for our clients, our teams, and ourselves.
Cons
Leadership, once our stronghold, has lost its way. Instead of tackling systemic issues like missed sales targets and poor CX, we are witnessing a repetitious approach from the old guard. We no longer embody the qualities of being "bold" or "customer obsessed" that once defined us. The push for bigger sales and in-person office attendance, coupled with a pursuit of fleeting trends over our own research and experiences, has sidelined innovation. Research is left in the position of being forced to appease George's most recent infatuation, at the expense of our actual client needs and asks. The additional pressures over the past seven months of two rounds of layoffs. merit freezes (which have now resumed without cost of living considerations), and sudden changes to return to office plans have continued to strain our employee community. We're feeling exhausted, demoralized, and frustrated with our own expertise being overlooked. We are simply no longer trusted to make the best decisions for our clients or ourselves. There's a clear need for change to reinvigorate our workplace and regain our focus on what truly matters.
