Pros
My colleagues over the years have been fantastic, smart, caring people.
Cons
I've worked at Forrester for well over a decade, and it's been awful to watch the company culture nosedive. This used to be a business I was proud to work at, where I felt like part of a family. It's not the same place anymore. I won't rehash what everybody is rightly saying about the layoffs, return to office, and cost of living. But other companies are doing the same things without destroying their culture. Why is this? I think it boils down to trust and respect. Forresterites have been treated with solid trust and respect as long as I've worked here, only to be told this year that we can't even choose the days we come back to the office. In the past, we got to choose our WFH days, which was a solid gesture of respect, cost the company nothing, and let us organize our lives in ways that worked for us. Now, when we do come in, we aren't even given our own desks to sit at, and several departments have been asking for months for spaces that will enable them to do their jobs, and have been met with zero or inadequate response. A lot of this stuff shouldn't be that hard to implement. We just want to feel valued. I'm not saying it would fix all the problems, but it would definitely help to put a sharper focus on trust and respect. I'd like to hope it's not too late to turn this around.
