Pros

Great people, good benefits, good reputation in the community

Cons

Organization leadership has a tendency to move employees around from one department/position to another -- which may or may not be related to the position/department the employee was originally hired into -- without the employee's input or buy-in. The employee is just told that this is what's going to happen, like it or lump it. Even when the employee brings up concerns about it, those concerns are pretty much brushed aside with lip service to the core value of "one team" -- e.g., each employee is a cog in the wheel and it doesn't matter if the employee is happy or not, as long as the organization gets what it wants/needs. I thought this would be the company I would stay with until retirement -- in the department I interviewed with/was hired into. Then I was blindsided by being told one random day that I was being moved out of that position/department to do something completely unrelated in a different department. It was a demotion in all but pay grade and made me feel like a *human resource*that could just be plugged into any "job" rather than a person with my own goals and passions and desire to build a career.

Thank you for taking the time to review Fortera. We always love to hear the people love our benefits and think highly of their coworkers! As we grow and develop as an organization, sometimes that means our leadership team makes the decision to reorganize our departments and our teams to best serve the needs of our members. We work diligently to ensure that our team members know of the change, the reasoning behind it and encourage them to be excited for the next step in their Fortera life!

Pros

Working at Fortera has given me the opportunity to build meaningful relationships throughout the community while helping individuals feel more confident in their financial lives. One of the things I value most is the ability to create impactful financial wellness programs that truly meet people where they are without judgment or pressure. Pros: * The culture encourages creativity, relationship building, and community involvement. * I’ve been able to collaborate with schools, nonprofits, businesses, and military organizations in meaningful ways. * Team members genuinely care about serving others and improving our communities together. * There are many opportunities for growth, leadership, and innovation.

Cons

Cons: * Like any growing organization, there are always areas for continued communication and process improvements. Overall, I’m thankful for the experiences and opportunities I’ve had during my time here.

Pros

Honestly, this company is such a great place to work. The benefits and PTO are amazing, and I love the VTO and Stakeholders bonus program. Management genuinely encourages people to use their time off and maintain a healthy work-life balance instead of making employees feel guilty for taking a break. It’s refreshing to work somewhere that understands people have lives and responsibilities outside of work and really "walk the talk." There are also lots of opportunities to grow and level up in your career, and the overall vibe is super positive. The culture is fun, supportive, and not toxic like a lot of workplaces out there. Leadership genuinely wants people to succeed and always makes employees feel valued. And the CEO is super caring and involved, which you don’t see often. It really feels like a company that invests in its people and wants everyone to win.

Cons

Everyone can improve but there really are no cons.
