Pros

Coming from some unstable companies in the tech industry, I was glad to find a "steady Eddie" company that is doing the acquiring and not the ones being "bought out" for a change. I was surprised to find that they have over 6,000 employees with 300+ offices in both the US and Canada. I've talked and worked with many of the branches and they are all experiencing growth and are hiring, which is more than the Facebooks and the Amazons of the world who are massively laying off their workforce. As with all growing companies, there are some pains. Acquiring and acclimating so many offices takes time and companies have their own ways of managing (or mis-managing) so this will take some time to iron out. I'm at the corporate headquarters so I see that they are taking steps to improve and assimilate all the different company cultures into FBM's culture: "Safety First, Customer Focused, Team Oriented, and Integrity/Honesty, So far, all of the hiring managers I've been dealing with have been amazing and helpful and humble. Some are downright a hoot and keep me laughing all day long. I came to work here because I liked how the people made me feel and I still feel the same after getting to know them better. The company is growing, so it seems we are drinking from a fire hose, but it's a wonderful problem to have instead of twiddling my thumbs with nothing to do. We've hired compensation specialists to ensure all companies we acquired are paying equitably and according to market value so that is in the works. I'll end with this: if we can buy out others, this is the company to be with and not the other way around.

Cons

We're using new systems because we have to as a direct result of the fast growth, but the company is willing to spend the money to ensure we have the tools to succeed. I don't see FBM overspending and wasting money which many high-tech companies so often did. But we do have snacks and drinks so we're not starving here. The management is willing to change things as long as the business justification makes sense so they do make quick decisions instead of stringing things along. The coffee is not the best but then again, I'm a coffee snob, but they make up for it with amazing and plentiful teas.
