Pros

Fast paced environment where you will learn payment tech from top to bottom. Competitive pay, full-time remote positions available. Great group of engineers/leads to help mentor you. Company routinely met its goals for the year or exceeded expectations. Office has nice views and a great on-site kitchen with super friendly staff.

Cons

I dealt with a lot of growing pains in my time here. Numerous times where leadership acted unprofessionally, lots of blaming and finger-pointing when things went wrong. Over the course of 2.5 years I reported to 7 different managers, and I barely had enough time to get to know them before things changed. Communication across teams was challenging, and it was clear that leaders on different teams clashed amongst each other. The direction of QA and its tooling changed dramatically between the time I interviewed and when I was able to contribute meaningful work. I was hired to work on a C# automation framework, but they hated that automation, abandoned it and ran manual regression tests instead.

Pros

One of the biggest advantages of working at FreedomPay is the opportunity for career growth. Over the years, I've been promoted multiple times, which speaks to how FreedomPay recognizes and rewards strong performance. It's a fast paced and dynamic environment, where pivots are often necessary. It means work is exciting and ensures you're always learning. The people here are hardworking, committed and deeply collaborative, making FreedomPay a motivating place to build a career.

Cons

The flip side of opportunity is that they have to be earned. This isn't a place where promotions happen because you've been here the longest; FreedomPay is genuinely a meritocracy. It may not be the right fit for someone looking for a slow pace with a lot of downtime.

Pros

My team was great, I loved my direct manger and director. I knew that they always had my back and they made sure we weren't bogged down with upper management drama. We had a lot of autonomy and freedom to complete work as we saw fit/what worked for us personally. They have a generous mat leave policy- you don't have to be at the company for a certain amount of time before you qualify and good work life balance culture. Good benefits and a quarterly company wide bonus structure that was incentivizing.

Cons

Departments are very siloed, making hard to collaborate. There is no formal review process, which can make it difficult to move up as you have no company measurements to go by.
