Pros
The on-site market can be hit or miss. It’s 50% off items that could not be delivered or food close to their expiration date.
Cons
1. FreshDirect is making a huge mistake thinking they are just an online grocery store when in fact they are a tech company first. This is where they have a lot of opportunity to grow but for some strange reason they don’t. It just looks like they’re going to just Blockbuster their way through technological advancement. 2. They have too many inefficient processes and just as many ineffectual people making decisions. 3. The turnover there is next level. I’ve never seen anything like it before. 4. Talented and creative people don’t last here. They eventually see that the people who make decisions have no real interest in making changes that are healthy, productive, and offer value to the business or their people. So you’re stuck with various levels of mediocre employees. 4. If your communication skills are exceptional you will be very frustrated working here. I’m not being hyperbolic. Don’t work here if you’re use to a high level of effective communication. There is not an area of this company that has this skill down to a science and it will frustrate you to no end. 5. After 5p they shut off the hot water. Seriously. 6. The on campus cafeteria is lackluster. I wondered why so many of the employees brought their food from home when I first came here seeing as this is a “quality food” company and promoted the former CEO’s chef background. Nope. Don’t eat there. Their idea of good food is very stereotypical bland American fare. Even when they attempt Latin flavors, that they also sell (yikes) on their website, I’m astonished that they can’t even get that right. And that’s why most employees order out or bring their own food. At a food company, lol.
