Pros

You work for a Fortune 50 Company. Working here for at least a year opens many higher paying opportunities.

Cons

This company has horrible working conditions and OSHA needs to evaluate the Lorton, VA Facility immediately. Employees clock in 10-18 hour days regularly and do not take enough time between shifts, which is illegal. One of the employees who had a heart condition requested to have a box truck that had air conditioning, and managers did nothing about it for weeks (weather in the box trucks gets 110 degrees or more during the summer). There was a fire outside the building once and there are always several jars of broken glass somewhere in the warehouse. My job was on-call 24/7 7 days a week including Holidays. I couldn't spend Christmas week with my family because I got called into work. I got calls between 11PM-5AM constantly to find more route coverage. Management steps over everyone trying to make themselves look good for the ZBM & ZSL. The territory I managed was open because the person managing it before me had a mental breakdown and went missing for 3 days (police came to investigate). I am a minority, and maybe one of the only minorities of my race at Frito-Lay at that time. During my training period, my Trainer during our 1-week classroom time announced during class in front of all the trainees that I was passive and timid (stereotypes of my minority). It was extremely unprofessional, and I never felt comfortable with Frito-Lay after that event. DO BETTER. My manager verbally abused me and other managers at that time. When I put in my 2 weeks, he told me that he was not surprised and I would never do much with my career. I am now incredibly happy in my current job and making more than twice what I made at Frito-Lay only 3 years late. My manager made a list of everything I needed to do before I left, and threatened me personally if I did not complete it. After I left, I found out that multiple people submitted HR allegations due to his abuse. He was demoted to a non-managerial role. Thinking about Frito-Lay gives me anxiety and PTSD. I cannot express how horrible my experience was. I believe this place gave me many physical and mental health issues.

Pros

Pay is ok and great benefits.

Cons

No work life balance. Held accountable for more and more and way too much micro managing lately. Routes are uneven some heavy and some baby routes. Routes run 7 days a week while other vendors dont. You work every holiday except Christmas unless a holiday is on your day off. Plus you work every weekend you work unless your one of the lucky ones. And if something happens in your personal life you have to deal with it after working long hours too much of a pain to call in. They love to say you will be held accountable as its almost a threat.
