Pros
Frito-Lay has a juggernaut reputation in the industry, if you work in sales here for a couple years you can sit back and let recruiters come to you in droves. No more than 2 years is necessary, and Frito does pay well for a fresh college graduate.
Cons
HOWEVER, I want to be clear that this will not be a fun job. There are 2 cultures at Frito-Lay running simultaneously; 1) There’s the culture of toxic negativity with the frontline employees, and that will never change because the company’s foundation is built on long hours and bowing down to customer whims, they will work long hours and so will you. 2) There’s a culture of toxic positivity in management where you will have to pretend you’re happy with 70 hour work weeks, midnight phone calls and covering your employees job when they call out sick at 2am. If you voice real feedback to higher ups then you will be labelled a complainer and a problem. This is not a good long-term career for your mental health or any semblance of a work-life balance. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking a promotion will make things better, because it won’t. The hours will get longer and the pay increases are pretty minimal.
