Pros

Beautiful grounds Working with seniors is very rewarding

Cons

HR is a mess and does not have the employees best interest at heart. Ever. I was sexually harassed by my direct supervisor Wayne Scott for YEARS, while he was trying to pursue a relationship with me that I wasn’t interested in. Instead of HR or the Executive Directors checking in with me … because it was obvious … they made jokes about whether we were having an affair. When I finally reported it they brought in a team of people from HR at their executive level to try to intimidate and scare me into not pursuing it any further and took Waynes side. Eventually after a few months they ‘got rid of’ my position and paid me a bunch of money not to sue them. Which is funny because they were getting sued ALL THE TIME by employees. Wayne kept his job until he got a job closer to home years later. I wasn’t the first woman to work under Wayne he did this too. Also, he was engaged and then married the whole time. The pay is low, they salary you so you don’t have to get paid for special events and constant work meetings and trips. They treat women chefs like novelties. Just a horrible place to work.

Pros

Dedicated frontline staff who genuinely care about residents and their families. Many employees across departments consistently go above and beyond to maintain a high standard of care, and residents frequently express appreciation for the teams supporting them. Working with colleagues who remain committed to the mission, even under pressure, is one of the strongest aspects of this community.

Cons

Leadership practices at the community level have increasingly created a high-pressure work environment for staff. Inconsistent expectations, heightened scrutiny of individual employees, and frequent changes in direction make it difficult for staff to focus fully on providing consistent, compassionate care to residents. Employees who work directly with residents and families often find themselves navigating these pressures while continuing to advocate for patient needs and maintain professional standards. Over time, this environment can affect morale, collaboration, and long-term staff retention.
