Pros
new aircraft, growing airline, short reserve period, nice hotels, awesome flight deck crew, family feel due to the smaller size (so you know more people of the flight crews and gate agents), excellent flight benefits and medical, dental, vision. Vision and dental are actually free with the option of upgrading to a premium plan.
Cons
PAY! We have the lowest pay in the industry for a mainline and it's verging on regional airline pay. The planes are filthy and we don't have cleaning crews. Most of the time, we can't get what we need when we land. The station won't have a vacuum, no trash bags, no toilet paper or paper towels, no gloves, no soap. Every single station Frontier flys into, they should have what we need. We bring in some 'interesting clientele' due to the low fares that are rude to the flight crew and don't care about keeping the planes nice and tidy. The morale is really low (understandably) because our CEO and company don't care about anyone but themselves and their bottom line. The contract is old and terrible! The reserve rules and pay are poor, you hardly fly on reserve, we top out at $37/hr, compared to over $67 at United, we get no extra pay for tarmac delays, redeyes, delays, international, no educational assistance or leave, no language speakers, we only get paid 3/6 hours to sit ready reserve (couch), no crews meals on turns that we aren't allowed to get off the aircraft, horrible uniforms. The uniforms are so thin, that we are required to wear a white undershirt with them, they don't fit well and make you look like you're 250 lbs (even though I'm 140 lbs), we get no dry-cleaning allowance, only $150 for new uniform pieces each year. People love our low fares, but they hate us, our airline, the customer service, and the nickel-diming. They hate that the seats don't recline, the lack of wifi, the lack of legroom, the thin/hard seats, small tray tables, no real food on the plane, the expensive bag and upgrade fees, and the charges for snacks and drinks. In return, all of these frustrations are taken out on the flight attendants!!! They really think it's our fault for those things. The airline also doesn't take care of the passengers when their plane is delayed significantly, cancelled, or when reservations need to be changed...they leave them high and dry. The website doesn't make it clear to passengers who aren't savvy fliers, that the price you pay is basically for a seat...nothing else. Even Spirit is more clear with their fares (It's the Bare fare...just the fare and nothing else is included). The general feeling at Frontier is that they don't take of their passengers or their employees. Only those at the top of management and the CEO are benefiting from all the hard work that the employees do and the poor treatment that we suffer through. They are making record profits and getting huge bonuses, spending 49.5 Billion on new aircraft and opened a new headquarter building, while I live paycheck to paycheck and sometimes have as low as $24 in my bank account. There is no way we are going to triple in size if they don't treat their flight attendants and pilots to a new contract and better treatment, as well as treating the passengers better. They think that we are disposable and would rather us leave and go to another airline, than us stay and get pay raises for years and years. The joke is on them when we start striking and they have no one to fly the planes, which will hurt their profits and reputation. Maybe THEN, they will start caring!
