Pros

Seeing new places. Working with a variety of people; I've been a flight attendant for about 10 months now and most of the time I am working with a Crew I have not met yet. There are different positions to work, the forward cabin or the aft cabin. The benefits. You can switch bases if you'd like or stay with one for the rest of your career. The schedule is very flexible, I have not had to ask for vacation days yet, because it is so easy to get the days off that you want. You can drop/trade your trips and rebuild your schedule if it did not come out the way that you had planned.

Cons

You don't always get the schedule you want. Trading and dropping can be easy but at times, it can be difficult. Delays. Nobody likes a delay. Sometimes it can be lonely on your layovers. Just like any other job, you run into people that dislike their job, I like to call them "Energy Vampire" because it is easy for people to damper your energy. I miss my family and animals. Living out of a suitcase can be tiresome at times. Finding new meals to put into your lunch bag can be tricky.

Pros

It pays “some” of my bills.

Cons

I want to begin by expressing my disappointment with the union’s representation of its members. There is a significant lack of transparency and consistent communication, leaving many employees feeling uninformed and disconnected from the bargaining process. From my perspective, aircraft mechanics working under this contract are compensated well below the industry standard despite the critical role we play in maintaining safety and operational reliability. It often feels as though these concerns are not being adequately addressed or prioritized. Unfortunately, the current environment has made this airline feel more like a temporary stepping stone than a place where skilled mechanics can build long-term careers. Until meaningful improvements are made to compensation, communication, and representation, I believe retaining experienced technicians will continue to be a challenge.
