Pros

Some of the best things about working specifically for Frontier as a Flight Attendant is that you get off of "reserve" fairly quickly. Some airlines take years where at Frontier you can begin to make your own schedule between 6 months to a year after passing initial training, and sometimes faster. The opportunities with overtime can make this a fairly profitable airline in the short run even though it's salary expectations do not compete long term with the mainline carriers. The flight benefits are honestly the best part. You can fly standby for literally free within the United States, and there are a fair number of international options if you know where to look. As of now Frontier FAs do not receive international standby benefits from most US mainline carriers, however there are several enticing international options if you don't mind making an extra stop. Overall I would say this airline is great for breaking into the airline industry and making enough money to survive relatively quickly compared to it's competitors. The benefits are surely a great motivating factor, but since the salary is a bit low you might not get to travel as much as you would have hoped unless you can supplement your income or save money on expenses another way.

Cons

Frontier Airlines is poorly managed. Communication between Inflight and other departments is at best difficult and time consuming, and at worst impossible. Most departments are understaffed which causes long wait times, specifically with Crew Scheduling, and could cause you to be stranded for hours if your flight cancels. The dependability department is showing improvement however several times I had to send multiple emails and make multiple phone calls over the course of several months to resolve an issue. FA supervisors usually do their best but cannot do much to support the FAs they manage due to a lack of resources and authority. Our AFA union contract is constantly broken with little to no consequences on the part of the company. You don't get paid for boarding or delays which can result in waiting at the airport for over 10 hours without receiving your hourly rate. This however is an industry standard and not just a Frontier issue. Finally the company culture at Frontier is moving to be more inclusive but at it's core still values older conservative beliefs . For example it wasn't until 2019 that FAs could wear protective hairstyles such as locks and braids without being penalized due to the "Presentation and Grooming Standards" for Flight Attendants set by the company. Frontier's management is concerned with on-time departures and everything else is second to that. This includes customer and employee satisfaction.

Pros

It pays “some” of my bills.

Cons

I want to begin by expressing my disappointment with the union’s representation of its members. There is a significant lack of transparency and consistent communication, leaving many employees feeling uninformed and disconnected from the bargaining process. From my perspective, aircraft mechanics working under this contract are compensated well below the industry standard despite the critical role we play in maintaining safety and operational reliability. It often feels as though these concerns are not being adequately addressed or prioritized. Unfortunately, the current environment has made this airline feel more like a temporary stepping stone than a place where skilled mechanics can build long-term careers. Until meaningful improvements are made to compensation, communication, and representation, I believe retaining experienced technicians will continue to be a challenge.
