Strong Potential, Consistently Undermined by Leadership - Manufacturing Technician Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies Employee Review

Pros

The company offers good exposure to the CDMO industry, and the schedule is generally consistent. The work itself is not particularly difficult, and there are genuinely good people throughout the organization. Unfortunately, those positives are outweighed by persistent leadership and cultural issues that have only gotten worse over time.

Cons

The biggest problem is the lack of accountability. Rules are applied inconsistently, people regularly claim work is complete when it isn't, and poor performers are rarely addressed. Instead, the burden falls on the employees who consistently do the right thing, leading to burnout while others continue collecting a paycheck with few consequences. The culture also rewards speed over quality. When employees have to choose between doing the job correctly or doing it quickly, the expectation is almost always to prioritize speed. This creates unnecessary risk, lowers standards, and sends the message that appearances matter more than actual performance.

Pros

Pay for manufacturing is above average and good benefits Greenfield site transitioning to brown so never boring Good for early career. Being a newish site with few established procedures means you learn faster and take on more responsibility for early. It is relatively easy to make lateral moves to other departments after starting in manufacturing (not so much growing within your own) Most people here are kind and hardworking

Cons

Facility is incredibly siloed. Things which would be formal documented processes anywhere else come down to consulting specific individuals here, and your success is dependent on tracking down and building relationships with said individuals. Makes it difficult to figure out what everyone else is doing even when it affects your job. This makes the site cliquey but is improving Getting things done fast here always wins out over things being done right. Poor upward mobility within your role. You can’t be promoted up a level (i,e II to III) til someone at that level leaves that role. Leadership generally our of touch but where aren’t they
