Pros
The people hired in at GAINS are very easy-going and fun to work with. You're able to learn a lot from each other. GAINS also gives you plenty of opportunities to lead customer accounts, projects, training sessions, etc. to boost your resume.
Cons
Almost every con about GAINS comes directly from poor management practices: 1. Lack of organized and structured onboarding program. You will need to learn various facets of the software yourself through trial and error, and asking your teammates questions. Becomes very difficult when customers expect you to be the subject matter expert on the software. 2. All teams are understaffed and work piles up extremely quickly. You will be forced to be the "squeakiest wheel" in order for senior mgmt/development team to devote attention to your customers' issues. Customers will hound you if progress is not being made, regardless if progress is out of your control directly. 3. The company culture is terrible. 50-60 hour weeks are extremely common, and weekend work is a necessity every weekend for those who have been at the company for 2+ years. Senior management makes you feel uncomfortable for taking vacation time. 4. Benefits at GAINS are bad. Management significantly underpays compared to other companies in the area, especially given the large workload. HR Department is only one person, so requests have long turnaround times. 5. There is absolutely no incentive to go above and beyond in this job. Management will continue to give you more and more responsibility until you are extremely stressed and working 50-60 hours a week. Annual raises are standard, but no congratulations/recognition is given for doing excellent work, let alone bonuses. There is no transition plan for new/existing clients; your workload simply rises each year as you acquire more responsibilities and projects.
