Pros

Flexible working arrangements. Work life balance. High technology products.

Cons

In 2010 GE slashed medical benefits without warning to the general workforce. Engineering individual contributors (anyone not in management) are treated as totally replaceable pawns, shuffled around and placed into roles without thought of the individual's wants or desires. Even the most experienced senior engineers are treated like commodities which can be replaced at a moment's notice. It is sad because this group holds the keys to successful engine designs of the future.
