Great learning opportunities hindered by poor onboarding and management - Senior QA Engg GE HealthCare Employee Review

Pros

Great place to learn, but only if you get a good team

Cons

The onboarding process is practically non-existent. There is no proper knowledge transfer (KT) or documentation, and new hires are expected to deliver immediately without being given time to understand the system. Management and leadership seem to set new hires up for failure rather than success. Tasks are unfairly distributed, with existing employees avoiding challenging work while new additions are given unrealistic expectations. In QA, the code review process is weaponized—leadership uses excessive, minor review comments on automation code strictly to delay progress and ensure timelines are missed. The high turnover speaks for itself; I confirmed that 4 to 5 people recently joined this exact same position and left shortly after.

Pros

-a lot of smart and talented people work here -reasonable pay and benefits -nice coworkers -some remote work opportunities, albeit decreasing over time

Cons

-mixed leadership - some good leaders, some terrible ones -ridiculously onerous processes - their QMS system is ludicrously conservative and involves literally hundreds of documents to make one product -sourcing takes 10x longer than it should -tolerance of poor performers and way too high a bar to get rid of them -bad annual raises - often lower than inflation these past few years - and weakly based on personal performance
