Pros
Talented co-workers and interesting products. GE Healthcare hires the best engineers and provides top-notch equipment. The products are high-tech medical imaging equipment. It is very satisfying to describe to friends and neighbors how you are working on state-of-the-art medical equipment.
Cons
Management is paralized with indecisiveness. Mid-level managers are afraid to say no or push back. Although the healthcare products are high-tech, there is extreme aversion to adopting new technologies. Most enigneers have to work with off-the-shelf existing technologies. Limited advancement opportunities on the so-called technical career path. If you want to make $$$, you must become a manager.
