Pros
Big company, big name. One can learn a lot as GE gives you as much work as you can take.Great if you participate in their FMP/CAS programs - nice pay and managerial position guaranteed.
Cons
Constant drive for cost-cutting and simplification which in reality means putting 3 people job on one person and no ability to retain best employees. Overtime is a norm and is not paid (at least in Hungary). Because FMP/CAS graduates always get managerial jobs, chances for promotion if you are not one of them are almost 0. The atmosphere of constant stress – everything is requested urgently and with very short deadline. There is never time for mentoring/coaching as everybody in the team is overwhelmed with amount of work. HR is simply horrible - rude and unprofessional, trying to avoid you and ignore your questions. And despite the fact that this is an American company, you cannot even get a recommendation from your manager when leaving.
