Pros

If you want to learn about product, it's a great job. But you have to be dedicated to learning about the product. Most of the things you'll learn about ARE GNC brand. The company is basically a cluster of a mess. If you were once a used car salesmen you'd make a great employee of GNC.

Cons

One of the things you will learn fast when working at GNC is they want you to push their products. They being the regional managers, cooperate people, and your RSD. In my region, we have gone through three, yes, three RSD's. They will run your RSD into the ground for not making store numbers. Some numbers are totally unrealistic to the volume of your store. I was actually told by my now active RSD to "Fake it till we make it." That's GNC's motto apparently. I learned a great deal about the product I was selling. Don't get me wrong. I could tell you know what vitamins are right for you and what protien or test booster you should take. But you should also know don't trust your sales person. They will sell you anything to make their own goals in P3's, PM's, Multi's, and OMS. I've had people come to my store and return items of those nature because the sales person at the other store just wanted to sell things in stacks to get good numbers. This company is so messed up. They set all these goals and don't think of the traffic flow of every store or the store location. Good luck to anyone who wants a job at GNC. I barely lasted a year before my active RSD( who is basically a stand in. She has not gotten the job yet, probably won't. All she wants to do is make a name for herself.)told me that my numbers sucked and I could either quit or be terminated. I was going to take maternity leave anyways. But she forced me to leave before my time was up and I feel like it's because I was planning on leaving and she has a personal vendetta against my store manager. Total immature "women" I use that term loosely.

Pros

The job provides excellent exposure to a structured sales plan for someone new to sales. The store gets plenty of foot traffic to create opportunities for customer engagement. The varriety of products to sell on is great as well. Pro Access is a great value for customers building a pre and post work out regiment or building a supplement routine.

Cons

You run the show. While there you are responsable for running the store.
