Pros
Working for GNC is generally a simple job: 50% customer service, 50% salesman. Stocking shelves is easy, and the planogram process is intuitive and comprehensive.
Cons
Unfortunately, the simplicity of the job is overruled by the overwhelming incompetence that makes up anything above store level staff. There’s a distinct lack of communication from anyone above store manager, and it makes getting basic tasks complete a significantly more drawn out process than necessary. There is a constant expectation to always be available, and any attempt at work/life separation is met with aggression or an attempt to guilt. The sales expectations aren’t difficult to attain, but the corporate side expects unreasonable results in a short amount of time, and anything less is met with disdain. The environment is constantly understaffed due to starting pay not being competitive at all, to the point that franchise locations are actively poaching unhappy employees with ease. The whole thing is rotten and needs a complete overhaul, or else they risk going under again as a company.
