Pros

Interacted with lots of great people, and there was still flexibility to be found, in spite of their best efforts to crush it.

Cons

Bureaucratic top-down attempted copycat of larger rivals Aon and Mercer, Gallagher is attempting to emulate the worst habits of its competitors without realizing doing so will kill what makes it worthwhile to work with them. They won't invest in people, create silly rules, and trip over dollars to pick up pennies. Examples: -They wouldn't reimburse flowers sent for the funeral of a client manager -The CFO had to approve (and denied) reimbursing $25 of Halloween candy for a client's nonprofit Halloween children's parade -They'll spend $1,000 worth of executive salaries weighing the pros and cons of a $50 office expenditure Bureaucrats run the show, and the good people who work here spend 30% of their time working around the nonsense the leadership forces them to comply with in order to serve the client.

Pros

The advantages of selling insurance through large corporations have largely disappeared. The environment has shifted toward prioritizing shareholder value over meaningful client and employee relationships.

Cons

Gallagher, like many publicly traded insurance firms, appears focused primarily on share price performance rather than supporting producers or fostering long-term client trust. The culture has become increasingly transactional, leaving little room for genuine professional growth or client advocacy.
