Pros

Full benefits and 4 weeks of vacation as new full-time hire for you and dependents, generous employee discount. Charitable (stores are encouraged to participate in local community charities) and forward thinking (supports LGBT agenda, domestic partners, racially diverse). Kids and Baby product is on point , on trend and well designed.

Cons

Extremely low pay for full-time store employees, no over-time, little training for new employees (includes management and sales associates), grossly insufficient payroll to meet demands of corporate, corporate and upper management do not value the individual worker (especially management) nor do they care about life or quality of life, upper-level management is rarely seen in lower volume locations nor do they provide much guidance or support when they breeze in once a year, no support when it comes to loss prevention, general feeling of frustration in many stores a demands placed on them by corporate due to lack of support and being completely out of touch with what is happening at stores within all volumes, no checks and balances on store directors/ general managers(the lazy continue to be lazy and get away with it), waste money on sending heads of stores and corporate to "party" in Las Vegas twice a year for general convention at one of most expensive hotels on strip; in which information gleaned never quite seems trickles back to stores. Looking at the way stores are struggling with hours, retention, and theft seems to me that that money could be better spent, on training and payroll. Gap does not know how to get the right people in right positions at right time nor do they know how to retain talent anymore! They do know how to burn people out. Product especially in Adult Brand is lack-luster, customers almost entirely refuse to purchase full price because they know it'll be on sale within a week. Denim which is bread and butter of brand is ill fitting and poorly made of low quality fabric. Gone are the days of must have clothing and fantastic design at least for adult. The kids and baby lines are fantastic and on point.
