Pros

Your experience at Gartner is heavily impacted by your manager. If you have a great manager who will advocate for you, you can climb the ladder and be more successful. They value a team atmosphere and collaboration so if that is what you are looking for, you will find it here. People are generally nice. Depending on your position, you can make good money. If you are looking for a fast paced environment, this may be the company for you.

Cons

They promote a work/life balance but in order to keep up with the workload and prove yourself, most will need to put in more than that. As far as promotions, you will get further in the company if you kiss up to upper management rather than your actual work. If you don’t love travel and at least 12 hour days with no pay for overtime, you will not like working conferences onsite. There are way too many unnecessary meetings that take up valuable time to get your work done. Depending on your position, if you need to rely on someone else who has a ton of work to help you achieve your tasks, you will have to constantly bagger them. Most of your day is reading and sending emails. If you start as a contractor and then get hired full time, you’re looked as a brand new employee and that time as a contractor doesn’t count. It’s easy to get burnt out here which I think is why so many people leave after a few years. There are more women than men working at the company, but I find the men are treated better and more valued.

Pros

Being a globally recognized company makes it easy to consistently engage clients. Great benefits. Amazing people (managers and colleagues) For the most part there is a clear path to success and promotions. Executives listen to feedback after every internal call to help guide strategy.

Cons

In office mandate increasing in office days from once a month to once a week. Need to live in Florida or Texas because of the in office mandate. Promotions take a while since there are many people going for the same roles. Hard to reach clients and constant territory’s shifting makes it difficult to achieve the numbers you and management expect.
