Business Outlook
Pros
Good patient ratios most of the time. Good teamwork amongst floor staff. Lots of opportunity for OT and the incentive pay is decent. Received a $25k retention bonus to remain for 2 years. Most physicians are easy to work with.
Cons
Charting feels overly excessive. Depending on the service, you sometimes have to call a rapid response to get a doctor to come see your declining patient or place orders. Not enough ancillary staff most of the time so nurses aren’t able to take breaks. Floor nurses generally have to work every other weekend and you have to find someone to switch with if you need your weekend off.
