Pros
The people who interact on a daily basis are great. There are very tightly knit groups of hardworking individuals working to complete a project despite the obstacles often put in place by managment. The engineers are very good techincally. They are also a pleasure to work with. The products they build are also exciting projects to work on. The company seems to encourage employees to see a program from start to finish which has the effect of encouraging a sense of personal satisfaction. It is tough find a project more interesting than building a SC, testing it and operating it in space.
Cons
Managment not clear on direction of company and sometimes evasive regarding tougher dicisions (i.e. layoffs). Managment does not take responsiblity for top level decisions or when a progam is won by bidding severly under competetion. Also very quick to make cut backs in terms of benefits and compensation. They have not handled recent layoffs well either. One individual came back from supporting a mission for 60 days and was given a notice that he had two weeks left to find another job within the company or was going to be laid off. They also expect engineers to work >60 hours without overtime pay on a regular basis.
