Pros

Superb and talented employees. They work their hearts out for their customers and to maintain excellent personal performance standards. Local management are good people albeit with little authority. Fair salaries.

Cons

Snide attitude of corporate leadership toward employees, you know, the ones that come up with the great ideas? Raises are minimal, around 0%-1% and benefits are cut in both good and bad times. Professional development, career advancement and financial incentives have pretty much vanished and replaced with trivial "attaboy" awards. Underwhelmed by corporate leadership - tend to disown mistakes (and there have been some whoppers) and do not give employees a stake in growing the enterprise. No core vision: who are we? Just chasing the next shiny object and throwing away what we can do today?

Pros

Good work life balance Projects matter for our war fighters Most co-workers are competent and dedicated More work than people, and moving to other engineering jobs is possible

Cons

Some numbskulls seem to get into senior positions. A "Consolidation" of buildings is underfunded, poorly planned, and drives chaos. The push to squeeze every nickel of efficiency means that there isn't always money for equipment or team building events (below the VP level).
