Pros

Good people to work with at the lower levels. Great company to work for over the years. Good Engineering staff (as long as they are allowed to do their jobs)

Cons

Too much emphasis on near term financial goals versus customer satisfaction. No long term Program wins due to forcing GD products on customers. Upper managers put in place with little skills. Promotions based on personality or how well liked vs Job performance. No Job opportunities unless you are a relative of upper manager, are well liked (but no skills) or want to move to other site. Upper management still getting bonuses at the sacrifice of lower level employee benefits and salaries. Oh, by the way, thanks for the Steak tips Friday. It sure made up for the lack of a raise this year.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. As an employee of the industry you understand the ebbs and flows of government contracting; particularly during the past several years, which have been difficult for defense overall. WIN-T is a very important program, as you mentioned, however, we are making additional investments in other program areas. For example, we are expanding our WIN-T offerings into the Public Safety sector, and we are continuing to pursue opportunities in SATCOM, in addition to many others. Please keep an eye on your ConnectingPoint home page for updates every day on the variety of work we do and capabilities we offer.

Pros

Good work life balance Projects matter for our war fighters Most co-workers are competent and dedicated More work than people, and moving to other engineering jobs is possible

Cons

Some numbskulls seem to get into senior positions. A "Consolidation" of buildings is underfunded, poorly planned, and drives chaos. The push to squeeze every nickel of efficiency means that there isn't always money for equipment or team building events (below the VP level).
