Pros

A few good people left and decent pay. Easy commute.

Cons

Beware of the 4-5 star ratings that the someone is posting on here because no one who really works here thinks this company is doing well. Poor management which is completely out of touch with its staff and the best practices of the industry. They rate people on number of hours worked instead of how efficient or well their work is. Therefore you have people rewarded for taking 20 hours to perform a 5 minute task. All design decisions are made by the chosen few and all other input is discarded. The cash cow contract of this company is going to expire in a couple of years and then the real layoffs will begin. People are jumping ship by the boat loads because of poor management and vision.

Pros

GD-MS seems to win *ALOT* of proposals and contracts. There is always the next big thing at GD-MS.

Cons

Contractors 411: Typically, contracts terminated with no notice. Today will be your last day. Please wrap up your work. It was a very low-rate contract too. Made alot of sacrifices to be on this program. Culture resembled a human wood-chipper ala FARGO. Many senior engineers leaving en-mass. I was asked to take over the role of the engineer who left just prior to my arrival. I called it: I will be next. Good experience once in your life to go thru the human wood-chipper. Toughens you up. However, GD-MS is a great example of how it is that legacy aerospace companies are dying rapidly and startups will be the future in aerospace.
