Pros
-It is important work, and it is nice to know you are making a difference for the military. -The schedule is very flexible and every other Friday is off. -You have the ability to work from home when necessary. -The benefits are decent for people who already spend a lot on health. -The compensation is good (at first). -There are lots of charity events and opportunities for networking and volunteer work. -Managers have two performance reviews/discussions a year instead of just one to get some feedback.
Cons
-The benefits seem to get worse each year. -You had better be happy with your original salary, because raises are a joke unless you are promoted. -There was a huge amount of turnover in my department which completely changed the work environment. -Management doesn't seem to care about the lower level employees; it's all about maximizing profits. -Contractors seem to take the place of full time employees, putting much more strain on the employees who stick around.
