Pros
I’ve had an extremely positive experience with GSI. The teams I’ve worked with have been motivated to succeed and filled with talented devs. We adopted an agile style of development a few years back that allowed devs to have more say in the projects that we work on. This switch also gave us insight on what other teams are working on and how their code might interact/conflict with our own. I also enjoy our daily stand ups, sprint planning and retrospectives. GSI also provides a decent benefits package, PTO, telework and the rest you’d expect. During this time when you hear most companies are shutting their doors, Geosol has switched nearly everyone to full time telework, and did it before things started to get bad. While unemployment is skyrocketing, I’m so grateful to work for a company that cares for their employees and our families. I’m also proud to have this opportunity to help those in need during the pandemic.
Cons
I really don’t have any cons. A few months ago I might have mentioned a heavy workload but it’s hard to complain about having plenty of work to do, especially when so many people out there have none.
