Pros

Nothing that outweighs the oppressive work culture.

Cons

This university survives on a culture of fear and martyrdom. Little consideration for student outcomes or support services at the graduate level, emphasis on tuition dollars only and then zero budget transparency. Faculty harassment runs rampant and results in little to no disciplinary action. Impossible to find any form of reporting mechanism to begin with. Long-standing staff members have wielded their power unethically, "joking" about withholding promotions (and then following through with it). Unequal distribution of resources resulting in unequal student services & support, underpaid staff, in addition to redundancies in technology and processes across campus Reliance on "good will" and "doing it for the students"--- until this year (with a "generous" COL raise of 3% from pre-covid pay) staff haven't been given even a cost of living raise since 2018.

Pros

Job security throughout budget cuts happening in the public health industry currently. Plenty of PTO and holiday paid leave.

Cons

Constant threats by upper management to "write us up/disciplinary action" for anything. Director is really unfair/disrespectful/condescending to our supervisor and so that trickles down to data coordinators. For example currently there is a threat that we will be "written up" if we do not meet all the competing deadlines. Ive seen sooo people many come and go in this sector over the past 3 years its insane. Its alot of data to manually enter and one must be organized /driven and on top of your game but it gets borring if your not passionate about the cancer trials you are working on.
