If you're looking to work somewhere that puts creativity first, this is not the place to be. Getty Images is very much a corporate organization. You will be faced with a lot of rigidity and pushback for the simplest ideas. Very risk averse.
Photographers and videographers are being paid less and less for the work they do. The company takes advantage of parts of the world where salaries are generally low, for example countries like Serbia, where they can pay creators there much less money to shoot content. It's all about stuffing money into the pockets of shareholders and meeting KPIs. Since going on the stock exchange, they seem even more eager to save every penny they can, by paying photographers less, staff less and reducing the sales org commission where they can.
They are ruthless, will make job cuts and redundancies, even to those who have been at the company over 20 years. Absolutely no loyalties. You become desensitized to how much they don't care about people.
