Pros

If you are interested in and want to make an impact in space of HIV/PrEP this is the place to be! Each employee wears multiple hats, you feel like you've made meaningful contributions to the business. Tremendous learning in short periods of time. Rewarding and industry-leading compensation.

Cons

Gilead aspires to be big pharma but is a small-to-mid sized biotech, with only one real revenue drive, that funds all other teams' resources & research. Lack of diverse pipeline, start-up culture, and big pharma aspirations bring a lot of stress in day-to-day activities. Organization structure is fragmented with multiple teams doing same or similar work with overlap and no clear roles & responsibilities outlined. Weak leadership with little-to-no direct US market experience. Functional leaders often lack deep functional expertise and the ability to create & drive long-term vision, often get lost in day-to-day churn, leading to frustration in middle management (D/SD/ED) and junior workforce (M/SM/AD/D).

Pros

-The only pros are the amazing benefits - probably the best 401K I've seen as well as the highly competitive salaries.

Cons

-Lack of culture is a growing and rampant issue - there is a very high level of favoritism -Micromanagement from senior leadership - instances occuered where they essentially forced an employee to resign and not directly fire him/her just so that they wouldn't have to pay severence package, etc. Managers want to just make themselves look good and make it clear that your only job is to acf as if they are God's gift to this messed up planet. -Lack of proper communication and frequent unnecessary team meetings held which are a waste of time and do not accomplish any desirable results.
