Pros
This division worked fairly independently from Global Payments. The base salary was competitive, the work itself was fast paced and interesting. Financial resources were available to do my job and make an impact. Benefits are generous and although a large company, there is minimal top down pressure from Global Payments HQ.
Cons
This division (OpenEdge) is run through favoritism and cronyism. Salaries and roles are distributed based upon relationships with upper management and perceived loyalty, not performance or experience. OpenEdge is the result of two acquisitions and the cultures have not mixed well, the Utah office is very tightly knit, with many family members and friends working together for over 10+ years, causing an atmosphere of tension if you are not "inside or provide feedback that isn't completely positive. There are many sacred cows at OE. Commissions are subjective, targets are changed frequently and with little equity of production across territories.
