Pros

Fintech is an interesting and growing industry in the Atlanta area. Bright spots of real leadership in the Controllership organization.

Cons

Avoid Settlement at all costs. Poor management and a bloated org structure make this group laughable. As mentioned in so many other reviews, if you are not 'in' with leadership they will find a way to remove you. Management is totally unprofessional and unpolished and it's true what one poster wrote about some managers not being able to spell or speak properly. I couldn't take any of them seriously. Just ghetto all around and in direct opposition to the world class image touted in the mission statement. The company really wants to be in the Fortune 500 league but I wager that poor leadership will prevent that from ever happening, along with a workforce that is not empowered or engaged due to excessive micromanagement. Also beware, there is no performance review process. It is totally at your managers discretion. Promoting from within seems to be a game of who you know. Turnover in Settlement Accounting is extremely high, please ask about this if you are considering a job here and listen carefully to the answer you receive and pay careful attention to the way in which your interviewer communicates. If she is already mispronouncing words and using Ebonics, this should give you a clear indication of the quality and caliber of leadership you will be working under. In summary, expect to gain no marketable skills in Settlement. Good on your resume if you are just starting out but a definite downgrade if you have experience elsewhere with larger, better run and performing companies.
